Mark it down... A new event... March 15-18, 2021. Yes, that makes 4 in a row this spring in Las Vegas! Well, the first 3 sold out so quickly, we had to do something, so our friends and partners at the Las Vegas JW Marriott Resort & Spa/Rampart Casino, and at the magnificent Clubs at Red Rock golf courses have graciously allowed us to add a fourth event at short notice. We appreciate the favor they show us, and we also greatly appreciate the support and continued participation from our golf professionals and their amateur partners. We couldn't do it without them... We are THANKFUL!

Wonderful Back to Back Full Field November 2020 Las Vegas Pro-Ams are in the books... and what fun they were! Sunny skies, great golf conditions, sumptuous meals, and super nice people typified what Tommy Thomas Pro-Ams are all about! Even though our loyal Canadian teams were not able to cross the border to join us, our United States contingent did not disappoint. Special thanks go out to our tremendous hosts at both the Las Vegas JW Marriott Resort/Rampart Casino and the Red Rock Golf Club for being both accommodating and creative during this unique time in our world. We have a great "template" for our Las Vegas Pro-Ams, and we will enjoy more oportunities to put it to use as we look forward to at least 3 more sold out Spring events in Las Vegas.

Sunny skies and mid 70's temps bathed 22 teams on Thursday, March 12 as we completed a wonderful Pro-Am at the Red Rock Golf Courses in Las Vegas. The greens were perfect...slick, smooth, and very receptive! Team Bill Whaley won the 1,2,3 Net Best Ball event by one shot over Team Jane Sirmons. The top 9 teams were paid daily, and just about every team was in the $$ at least once. Every shot made a difference, as the scoring was very tight and bunched each round. The Las Vegas JW Marriott was a fabulous host, with showstopping dinner parties, and out of this world breakfast buffets. The 12th season of Tommy Thomas Pro-Ams will commence back in Las Vegas with back to back events November 9-12 & November 16-19. Come join us, won't you?

We wrapped up another wonderful week of great golf, fabulous food, and fun with friends as 25 teams from the US and Canada put their golf games to the test! Sunny skies prevailed all week, with temps climbing into the mid 70's for Thursday's final round. A big thank you to the golf professionals and their amateur partners for joining us at Casino Del Sol, and making it such an unforgettable experience!

Amateur Bruce Strandberg, a member of Golf Professional Jock Olson's Minnesota Team had quite a thrill during the final round of the February 17-20 Tommy Thomas Tucson Pro-Am. He aced the 140 yard Par 3 seventh hole at the Sewailo Golf Club! It just so happened that #7 was the front 9 closest to the pin contest hole as well, so Bruce pocketed a cool $100 and received a Sewailo Flag signed by golf course architect Notah Begay as well. (That will look great in a frame back home...something to always remember!) Check out the Photo Gallery section of this website to see pictures of Bruce with the flag, as well as with Tommy, Jeff and his team at the scoreboard. A great week was enjoyed by all...Temps between 75 & 80 degrees all week, a course in perfect shape, and fabulous food of course! (Nightly dinner parties enjoyed by 145 guests). Another full field is headed to Tucson for next week's Pro-Am...it will be fun!

A full field of golfers enjoyed another fabulous December Tommy Thomas Tucson Pro-Am! Under sunny skies and very comfortable temperatures, a perfectly conditioned Sewailo golf course at the Casino Del Sol Resort was the scene of a memorable tournament experience for 24 teams from across North America. 5 teams from Canada, along with 5 first time attending teams made for a great mix of participants, many of whom made new friends for life! The final round was highlighted by a hole in one on the 165 yard 15th by South Carolinian and first time attendee Frank Payne! We have enjoyed hosting December Pro-Ams at Casino Del Sol for the past 5 years...Hope you can join us in the future!

Our first Pro-Am of the 2019-2020 season concluded yesterday, and it was phenomenal! Wonderful people from across North America, sunny skies with mid 70 degree temperatures all 4 days... but the biggest thrill for us was having 4 female professionals and 25 female amateurs in the field of 125 golfers! (Texan June Shane was a part of the winning team on day 1). Note... See "Barb Blanchar & Team: November 2019 Vegas Pro-Am!" pictures in the Photo Album category of this website! Alas, the Red Rock golf courses were exquisite, and the food at the JW Marriott was sumptuous! We are looking forward to another full field joining us in Las Vegas for next weeks Pro-Am!

On May 29 at the Woodlands CC (Player Course) in Spring, TX, Golf Professional Ron Schroeder of Montgomery, Texas qualified for the United States Senior Open Championship! Ron fired a 2 under par 70 to tie for medalist honors and earn a trip to South Bend, Indiana for the Championship June 27-30. This is Ron's first senior major. Ron worked in law enforcement and played high level amateur golf until deciding to turn pro as a senior. He has played in our Pro-Ams for many years, and his team always shows well in our events. This is an amazing accomplishment, and we are very proud of Ron! Not that you need it... but may the "luck of the irish" be with you as you compete at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame on June 27!

Exactly what is a Van Perrin Albatross you might ask? An exotic cocktail perhaps... or a type of bird? No, no, no. Something far more unique and very rare indeed. First off, Van Perrin is an excellent amateur golfer from Houston, TX. It so happens that Van played in ALL SEVEN of our Pro-Ams this season. (That's unprecedented) The final event of the 2019 Spring portion of our schedule took place in Las Vegas in March. On the final day of our final event, I guess Van wanted to make a statement, so for his second shot on the Par 5 first hole at the Arroyo Course at Red Rock he "feathered" a 3 wood from 255 yards away... and holed it for a 2! Yes, a double eagle, aka an "Albatross", which is more rare than even a hole in one! Note: Van explained that he "feathered" the 3 wood because it was playing downwind, and he expected the ball to run out a bit. Unfortunately for Van, it was a blind shot as well, and he did not see it go in the cup, but his partners saw it... and the rest is history! By the way, Van's team finished second that day!

Multiple time Tommy Thomas Pro-Am participant Bob Sowards from Dublin, Ohio won the 2018 Senior PGA Professional Championship this past weekend at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL. Trailing by 2 strokes, Bob took the lead by holing out of a greenside bunker for an eagle 3 on the 16th hole and finished the windswept final round with an even par 72 and a four day total of 13 under par 275. Bob became the first Southern Ohio PGA Member to capture the crown, and collected $21,500 for his efforts. He also became only the second player in PGA history to win both the PGA Professional Championship (2004) and the Senior Championship. Look for Bob to have a great showing in the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in May at Oak Hill CC in Rochester, NY. Congratulations Bob!
